Our Staff

Dr. Tammy Smith

DVM
Dr. Tammy Smith grew up in Fayetteville and worked at Animal Medical Clinic as a receptionist before attending Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. In 1995, after practicing in Houston for 5 years, she was able to return home and has been at Animal Medical Clinic ever since. Dr. Smith has 4 cats (all with extra toes!), 2 dogs (a boxer and a pug), 20ish laying hens, and 5 beehives. Her husband, Tom, is a professor at the University of Arkansas. Her 3 adult children all live in NWA and in 2022 she welcomed a grand baby to the family.

Dr. Lydia Champlin

DVM

Dr. Lydia Champlin was born and raised in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She worked at Animal Medical Clinic as a kennel attendant before graduating from Fayetteville High School, then attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She returned to Fayetteville to work at Animal Medical Clinic in 2016 and lives with her husband, Kyle, and their 3 dogs (Julia, Gus, and Hugo) and 2 cats (Theo and Phoebe). Lydia and Kyle love to hike, camp, and hunt for hidden waterfalls in Arkansas.

Dr. Alex Forst

DVM

Dr. Forst was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated from Mount St. Mary Academy and then received a Biology degree from Hendrix College. She received her veterinary license from Oklahoma State University. She moved to Fayetteville in 2021 to be closer to friends and family. Her special interests include feline medicine and ultrasonography. She enjoys reading, hiking, scary movies, game nights, and cuddling her cat, Eleven.

Dr. Amy Simpson

DVM

Dr. Simpson grew up in Greenwood, Arkansas. She started working at Animal Medical Clinic as a kennel attendant and veterinary assistant while obtaining her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas. She then attended veterinary school at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Simpson moved back to Fayetteville after graduation to be closer to family and rejoin the Animal Medical Clinic team. She enjoys time with her husband, Patrick, and their family. Her hobbies include reading, cooking with her husband, and playing with their pets (Olive – Doberman and Sir Whiskey – cat).

Dr. Susan Connelly

DVM

Dr. Susan Connelly graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked in many areas of Veterinary Medicine, including mixed animal practice, U.S. Army Veterinary Corp, USDA, and shelter medicine. She has many different animals that she loves on her farm.

My name is Tommie, I have worked in the veterinary field for 25 years. I have 2 cats, Bobby Joe and Christmas Carol.

My name is Jeanette and I have worked at Animal Medical Clinic since November of 2009. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. Both of my dogs are Chocolate Labs, named Lexi and Rugger. Two of my cats are Siamese named Mr. Jangles and Loki. My third cat is an Orange Tabby named Nemo.

My name is Heather and I am from Detroit, Michigan. I have a half tailed cat named Spinach.

Christine

I am part time in reception after a 40 year career at the U of A School of Architecture as a media librarian. I have 2 dogs, Cooper and Lucky, and a horse named Flynn. Cooper is a mid-size tri-color hound and Lucky is a very active Jack Russell Terrier. Flynn is a draft cross – Belgian draft and thoroughbred – about 16 years old and I’m working on basic dressage with him. Plus, I just love having a large animal to hug (other than my husband!). Oh yes, I also have a wonderful, patient husband who has been endlessly supportive of my equine interests!

Hi my name is Lisa. After teaching middle school science and math for 35 years I retired and came to work at Animal Medical Clinic to make use of my science background. I love animals. I presently have one dog named Rylee. She is a two and a half year old German Shepherd Mix.

My name is Addy, I have worked at Animal Medical Clinic since 2017. I have a dog named Olive that loves to come visit the clinic for pets and treats.

Stacy was born and raised in North Louisiana. She moved to Fayetteville after graduating from college at Southern Arkansas University. She and her husband share a dog, Ruby and cat, George Jones.

My name is Martha and I have worked at Animal Medical Clinic since 1998. I have 3 cats: Peter Conway, Basil Fawlty, and Polly Sherman.

My name is Harlie, and I’m currently an assistant. I’m currently enrolled in school to become a C.V.T! Vet med is my passion and I don’t know what I’d do without it. My fur family is a BIG one; consisting of 5 dogs, 1 cat, 2 horses, and about 60 head of cattle.

My name is Linda, I have dogs, cats, horses, chickens, an iguana and a possum. I have worked with animals for 25+ years. I have done everything from animal control to running a no kill shelter and wildlife rehab.

My name is Kimberly. I am a kennel attendant and absolutely love it! I have grown up being around all sorts of animals. My life has led me to a home and a job working with animals. At my farmhouse my family and I have acquired multiple animals, such as emus, ducks, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, and some dogs. This is my happy place. My job and my house feel like home.
